The problem

People record lectures, interviews, work notes and field videos. A normal camera app stops recording when you close it, switch to another app or turn the screen off.

What we built

  • Recording that keeps going after the app is closed, and with the screen off on supported phones
  • One-tap start and stop from quick tiles, widgets and shortcuts
  • Front or back camera, quality up to 4K where the phone supports it, and a timer
  • Long videos saved in parts, so one problem does not lose the whole recording
  • A video manager with a recycle bin and locked videos
  • A visible notification while recording, as Android requires, and videos kept on the phone
